1.5" Lens, designed specifically for high-resolution engraving and etching of small fonts and photos. With a small, focused beam or spot, this lens kit produces a spot size approximately 40% smaller than the 2.0 inch focusing lens, allowing for greater detail and quality during the engraving and marking process.

In addition, the 1.5" Lens Kit provides an additional 1/2" (12.7mm) to the table height (Z axis), enabling taller parts to be processed. This lens can also be interchanged with other available lenses and is compatible with all PLS and VLS series systems, as well as most older generations of Universal Laser Systems.

However, it's important to note that the 1.5" Lens Kit's closer proximity to the work area may increase the likelihood of contamination (dirty lenses), and its limited focal range tolerance may restrict its use in certain applications. It also has poor cutting ability for thicker materials, with a maximum thickness of 0.2" (5.08mm).

Despite these limitations, the 1.5" Lens Kit offers high resolution for detailed laser processing, and is field upgradable on supported systems from 1996 and newer. Additionally, its thin kerf makes it ideal for cutting thin materials. Please note that this lens is not available on PLS6MW, ILS, and XLS Series lasers.
