Replacement HPDFO lens for Universal Laser models VLS2.30, VLS2.30DT, VLS3.50, VLS3.60DT. VLS desktop models built after Jan 2012.
Universal's High-Power Density-Focusing Optics (HPDFO) lens kit, the perfect solution for intricate, tight-tolerance engraving and direct marking on select metals. Using a patented method to expand the laser beam within the focusing carriage, the HPDFO lens produces the smallest spot possible for incredible detail and the finest kerf on thin material cutting.
This lens kit increases the power density of the laser to achieve the effects of a laser of much higher power, allowing for materials like steel to be directly marked. With effective spot sizes as small as 1/5th the size of a standard 2.0 inch focusing lens, the highest possible detail can be achieved when laser processing materials.
The HPDFO lens kit is field up-gradable on any ULS system 1998 and newer and can be interchanged with other lenses as needed. However, it has some limitations, such as poor thick cutting ability (no thicker than 1/8” or 3,18mm) and it will not work with SuperSpeed or Dual Head options. It also has a limited focal range tolerance (very high divergence) and a higher cost lens kit.
The Universal HPDFO lens kit is a powerful tool that can help achieve the sharpest details and high power density marks directly on steel products, making it a valuable addition to any laser processing setup.
The HPDFO lens is only compatible with machines that have been configured to use and HPDFO lens. If you are unsure if your machine is compatible, please email us at info@abernethybeck.com.
