Exchange your existing ULS cartridge for a ULS factory-refurbished cartridge of the matching wattage (for example, a 30 W cartridge is replaced with a 30 W cartridge). Fits Universal Laser branded machines only. Your old cartridge returns to ULS within 10 days; return label included.

How the exchange works

Order & register
Provide ULS model + 2 serial numbers. ULS factory pre-registers your exchange.
Required at time of order: Universal Laser System model (e.g. ILS12.150D), ULS machine serial number (rear panel), and the existing laser cartridge serial number (printed on the cartridge label).

Ships UPS Next Day
ULS factory-refurbished cartridge ships from Scottsdale, AZ.
UPS Next Day Air is included in the exchange price. Signature required on delivery. A pre-paid UPS return label for the old cartridge is included in the box.

Install, pack, return
Swap cartridge (≈15 min), box the old unit, hand to UPS within 10 days.
Field-installable and factory-calibrated by ULS, no service call needed. Reuse the packing material and shipping box. Apply the enclosed UPS return label and schedule pickup or drop off at any UPS location within 10 days.

Your old cartridge must be handed to UPS within 10 days of receiving your replacement, using the pre-paid return label in the box.
Non-return fee
Full replacement cost
If your old cartridge is not returned within 10 days, ULS will invoice the full cost of a new replacement cartridge. Until the matter is resolved, the customer and machine may be ineligible for further support from Universal Laser Systems and its authorized dealers.
Failed delivery
3 attempts
If UPS cannot deliver after 3 attempts, the cartridge returns to ULS and a re-shipment fee applies. Signature required on delivery.
Post-install
Non-returnable
Once installed or powered on, the cartridge is non-returnable. Full ULS factory warranty begins at install date.

Common questions

Is this a brand-new cartridge?

No, and that's by design. Each cartridge is refurbished by Universal Laser Systems at their Scottsdale, AZ factory and tested to the same OEM standards as an outright-new cartridge. It ships with the full ULS factory warranty. The exchange model is what makes the lower price possible: your old cartridge goes back to ULS to begin its own refurbishment cycle.

Do I need a service tech to install?

No service tech required. These laser sources are fully field-installable, most models are toolless and can be swapped in under 10 minutes as a plug-and-play process. If you do not see instructions applicable to your laser model here, let us know and we can assist with removal and installation instructions.

What if I miss the 10-day return window?

Email hello@abernethybeck.com immediately. If the delay is reasonable we work with ULS to avoid the non-return fee. Otherwise ULS invoices the full cost of a new replacement cartridge, and until that is resolved the customer and machine may be ineligible for further support from Universal Laser Systems and its authorized dealers.

Is this a genuine ULS cartridge?

Yes. Every cartridge is rebuilt and tested by Universal Laser Systems at their Scottsdale, AZ factory and ships directly from ULS with the full ULS factory warranty. ABI has been a ULS authorized dealer for 25+ years.
