What materials can the FMO.100 fiber laser mark or engrave?

The FMO.100 is designed to mark a wide range of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, and more. It can also mark some engineered plastics, depending on the material composition. It’s ideal for part numbers, barcodes, logos, and deep engraving applications on metal components.

What software is included, and is it user-friendly for beginners?

The FMO.100 includes EZCAD2 software. EZCAD2 is widely used in the laser marking industry and supports standard file formats like DXF, AI, BMP, and more. It offers powerful functionality while remaining accessible for new users.

In addition, the FMO.100 is compatible with LightBurn laser software, which we highly recommend for its intuitive interface and streamlined design tools. LightBurn is a third-party software option (sold separately) that many users find easier to learn and more efficient for creating and managing jobs.

Can I use a rotary attachment for cylindrical items like rings or tumblers?

Yes, the FMO.100 supports rotary attachments for marking on cylindrical or curved objects. It’s ideal for engraving rings, tumblers, metal rods, and other round items. Rotary accessories are available as add-ons and are easy to install and configure within the software.

Is the FMO.100 suitable for production line use or is it meant for bench-top applications?

The FMO.100 is designed primarily as a bench-top laser marking system, ideal for workstations, small production cells, and job shop environments. Its compact footprint and air-cooled design make it easy to integrate into most workspaces without the need for special infrastructure.

For higher-volume workflows, the system can also be adapted for semi-automated or light production use, especially when paired with fixtures, rotary attachments, or a custom enclosure. If you’re exploring integration into a fully automated production line, ABI can help evaluate the requirements and determine if this platform or a custom-configured solution is best for your operation.

What kind of ongoing technical support does ABI provide after purchase?

ABI offers full support after the sale, including phone, email, and remote assistance for troubleshooting or training. We also provide optional on-site service and training if needed. Our team has decades of experience supporting laser systems in the field, and we’re committed to helping your team get the most out of your investment.
